Iron sponge can be used to clean burn marks at the bottom of pots, but it can also cause scratches on the surface of the pot.
Iron sponge is a common kitchen utensil found in most households. However, when using it to clean stainless steel pots, the surface of the pot can become scratched, leading to deterioration over time.
In this article, we will provide a simple alternative method to clean stainless steel pots and pans without the use of an iron sponge.
The correct method for cleaning stainless steel pots and pans
First, pour approximately 100ml of water into the non-stick pot/pan that needs to be cleaned and place it on the stove to boil.
Once the water in the pot/pan reaches boiling point, use a piece of cloth or a dishwashing sponge to scrub the surface thoroughly. In less than a minute, you will notice the burn marks and food residue easily coming off. There is no need to add dish soap!
Next, pour out the dirty water and you will notice that the pot/pan is now shiny and clean, without any food residue or burn marks. If desired, you can wash it again with dish soap, but rinsing it with tap water is sufficient.
We hope that these information and suggestions will provide you with a useful tip to extend the lifespan of your pots and pans.
