Last week, after five consecutive days of increases following the Lunar New Year holiday, the price of peppercorns remained unchanged on the last day of the week. Overall, pepper prices in the domestic market increased by VND 2,500–3,500/kg compared to the previous week. The Southeast region witnessed the most significant increase and currently has the highest prices in the country.

Last week, the World Pepper Association increased the export price of Vietnamese black and white pepper by $50/ton. The organization also reported that in the first week after the Lunar New Year, prices increased in most countries, except for white pepper from Indonesia, which decreased.

2 Global Pepper Prices
According to Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, the country exported 28,074 tons of pepper in 2021, a surge of 452% compared to 2020. Vietnam was Cambodia’s largest pepper export market last year, importing approximately 27,111 tons, accounting for 96.5% of the total exports.
Other significant markets included Germany with 607 tons, Thailand with 180 tons, France with 45 tons, and India with 42 tons.
