Power Extension Cord

Many individuals have the habit of sitting/lying on their beds while using electronic devices such as phones, tablets, or laptops. For convenience, power extension cords are often placed right by the bed. However, this practice poses a significant safety hazard. There is a risk of electrical faults and fires, which could lead to a serious blaze, especially if cheap and low-quality extensions are used.

Power outlets and scented candles are items that shouldn’t be placed by the bedside.

Scented Candles

Nowadays, many people enjoy using scented candles to create a relaxing ambiance, especially before sleep. As a result, they tend to place candles right by or around their beds. However, this practice is extremely dangerous.

Burning scented candles close to the bed can increase the risk of fires, especially if one falls asleep with the candle still lit.

Excessive Toys and Stuffed Animals

Toys and stuffed animals are not just decorative; for some, they are essential for a good night’s sleep. However, having too many of these, especially stuffed animals, in the bed area can lead to dust and bacteria buildup.

The teddy bears we sleep with can be a source of dust and bacteria and are rarely cleaned. They may cause respiratory issues and asthma.

Bright lights and too many stuffed animals are not recommended near the bed.

Bright Lights

A bedside lamp can be useful and provide a sense of security for some people. A gentle light can also be convenient when one needs to find something or use the bathroom during the night.

However, the lamp’s light intensity should be moderate. Avoid using lights that are too bright or glaring, as they can disturb your sleep and that of your partner (if applicable). Lack of quality sleep will leave you feeling tired and drained the next morning.

Opt for warm and soft lighting to ensure a good night’s rest and maintain healthy vision and well-being.
