1. Get Rid of Ants
You can find ants almost anywhere in your house. From empty soda bottles to cookie crumbs and insect carcasses, they’re always on the lookout for food. At first, you might think they’re harmless, but over time, they can become a nuisance. They will show up wherever there’s food and even take it back to their nest. Even your favorite snacks that you haven’t touched are not spared. If you want to get rid of ants without resorting to calling professionals or using harmful chemical sprays, try this method.
– Method 1: Use Black Pepper
Ants detest pepper, so simply sprinkle some on your kitchen shelves, their usual pathways, or their nest, and watch them scatter.
– Method 2: Use Cornstarch
While ants are attracted to cornstarch, they cannot digest it, so they will die after consuming it.
2. Fruit Flies
Fruit flies are a common nuisance during the summer months. They feed on unhygienic food and are known to transmit various diseases. These pesky insects can be found anywhere in your house, landing on fruits or exposed food and contaminating them with germs.
Even if you constantly shoo them away, they always seem to come back. Is there a more effective solution? Try mixing 30ml of apple juice with some dish soap and pouring it into a small cup. Cover the cup tightly with plastic wrap, poking a few small holes for the fruit flies to crawl through, and place it near their favorite food sources. The fruit flies will be attracted to the mixture and perish.
3. Insects Around the Sink Area
To keep these insects at bay, squeeze some lemon juice into the sink or cut a lemon into small pieces and place them near the sink. Lemons will help eliminate odors and deter insects. Alternatively, you can mix equal parts vinegar and water, freeze this mixture into ice cubes, and then put them in the sink to slowly melt, which will also help reduce odors.
4. Crickets
Crickets are another type of insect that many people find bothersome due to their destructive nature and the noise they make at night. To get rid of them, use molasses. Pour some molasses into a cup, add a little water, and stir to dissolve. Place the cup near where the crickets gather. They will crawl into the cup and won’t be able to escape. Do this for a few days, and you’ll effectively eliminate the crickets and reclaim your peaceful nights.
5. Cockroaches
No matter how clean you keep your house, cockroaches always seem to find their way in. To deal with these pests, mix baking soda with sugar to lure them in. When cockroaches consume this mixture, they will be eliminated. This method is simple, effective, and, most importantly, non-toxic to your family’s health.
