Treatment for Acne
The following are some effective home remedies for treating acne:
Salt Solution
Instead of washing your face with plain water, dissolve salt in water to form a saltwater solution. Salt has excellent antiseptic properties that can reduce redness and swelling of acne. Diluting the saltwater solution is recommended for better results. Rinse your face with cold water after using the saltwater solution to close your pores.
Fragrance-Free Mouthwash
Use fragrance-free mouthwash to effectively disinfect acne. Avoid flavored mouthwashes as they may irritate your facial skin.
Lemonade
Apply lemon juice or a mixture of lemon juice and honey to your face for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this process twice a week to make dark spots disappear. However, lemon juice can make your skin more susceptible to sunburn, so limit your sun exposure.
Ice
Reduce redness and swelling by applying a cloth wrapped in ice on your face for a few minutes. You can also use a spoon that has been chilled in the freezer. Apply it on the acne once it forms a layer of snow on the surface.
Eye Drops
In case of urgent situations where you want acne to shrink quickly, apply eye drops to the affected area. Eye drops can reduce acne within a few hours without irritating the skin.
Ginger
Slice ginger thinly, mix it with water, and apply the ginger water to your face. Ginger will help reduce pain, swelling, and effectively fight bacteria. Using ginger juice daily to wash your face can also purify your skin.
