When you go to a market or store to buy pre-shredded morning glory, you may not know how to achieve thin and beautiful shreds. To help you with this, here are some steps you can follow:

  • Medium-grade tape
  • Small plastic rope

Step 1: Start by using a knife to split the tips of the chopsticks at a depth of about 7-9cm, or equal to the length of the laminated knife you have prepared.

Step 2: Next, insert the laminated knife into the split groove on the chopsticks. Use the small plastic rope to tightly tie both ends of the laminated knife to secure it. (Refer to the image below).

Step 3: Finally, take the adhesive tape and wrap the twisted tail part onto the blade of the knife to help control the thickness of the shredded vegetables. You now have a convenient shredded morning glory knife.

Note:

It is recommended to use wooden chopsticks as they are easier to split. The laminated knife should be thin and sharp, so please handle it with care.

If you don’t have a small plastic rope, any other type of rope that can secure the laminated knife will suffice.

3. Finished product

After following the above steps, you will have a tool that makes shredding morning glory extremely convenient. With this tool, shredding morning glory becomes easier, resulting in evenly shredded and beautiful morning glory.

4. Tips for quick and beautiful shredding

  • Before shredding morning glory, soak it in water for at least 30 minutes to make it crispy and easier to shred.
  • To facilitate splitting, remove any smashed or stuck parts of the stem head from the white stalk.
  • Avoid splitting the morning glory too long, as the strands may tangle and become difficult to eat. Aim for a length of about 15-20 cm per bunch.
