Winter cannot be complete without a puffer jacket. Due to frequent use or improper storage, puffer jackets are prone to stubborn stains and even mold. Such stains can make people feel uncomfortable and just want to throw away the jacket and buy a new one.

However, you can completely solve this problem with products available in your home. With just a few simple steps, your jacket will be as clean as new, saving you a lot of costs.

Using fresh ginger

Fresh ginger is a familiar spice found in every kitchen. Ginger has a great effect on removing mold stains on clothes. You can grate the ginger and apply it to the area that needs cleaning, then leave it for about 15 minutes.

After that, put the jacket in the washing machine with soap as usual. You can also soak the jacket with fabric softener and hang it in a sunny place to dry.

Using vinegar

Vinegar is a familiar condiment. Besides its use in cooking, it can help you clean stubborn stains on clothes. Mix vinegar with water in a ratio of 1:2. Then, let the vinegar solution cool down until it becomes lukewarm, and put the clothes with mold stains in it to soak for about 30 minutes. Wash the clothes with soap and hang them in a dry, ventilated place.

You can also mix warm water, vinegar, and laundry detergent, then soak the jacket in it for about 30 minutes. Gently scrub the stains with your hands to loosen them. Rinse with clean water several times to remove all soap, then hang the jacket in a sunny place to dry.

Using lemon juice

Lemon juice is acidic, so it can be used to clean stains and eliminate odors from clothes. Cut two lemons in half and squeeze the juice. Wet the moldy area of the clothes and apply lemon juice on it. Hang the clothes in a sunny place for a few hours. Then, wash the clothes with soap and clean water as usual.

Using toothpaste

Using toothpaste can effectively remove mold stains on clothes. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the stained area and leave it for about 30 minutes. The cleaning agents in toothpaste will penetrate deep into the fabric, removing the stains. Gently brush the moldy areas with a soft brush. Wash the clothes with soap and clean water, then hang them in a sunny place to dry.
