At the event, Ngoc Trinh confessed that: “After four months, I’m slowly getting used to a normal life again. But earlier, when I was about to come downstairs, my heart was racing. As I took the steps down and heard: “You look gorgeous, Trinh!” I regained my composure. You could see how nervous I was, right? Receiving this film offer felt like a precious gift and a sign of encouragement from everyone. She also shared that she has undergone a transformation: “Before, I didn’t care if people liked or disliked me. Now, I want to be loved. Truly, I need more love.”
Ngoc Trinh has endured a series of life challenges recently, including a three-month-long temporary detention for the offense of Disturbing Public Order. On October 19, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency initiated legal proceedings and temporarily detained her. Following a trial on February 2, the court sentenced Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh to one year in prison but allowed her to serve her sentence on probation with a two-year probationary period. She was released from custody immediately after the trial.
She has also been through a painful process of scar treatment. The once “Underwear Queen” endured the procedures, gritting her teeth and even covering her mouth to suppress screams of pain.
“Up until now, I’ve undergone six treatments in over two months. I have three scars in total. I missed the golden period for medication, and due to a lack of proper care, the scars worsened and became raised. This time, I decided to focus on treating the scars on my knees and elbows first, leaving the raised scar on my thigh for later. The total cost for treating these two scars, including medication, is around 40 million VND”, shared Ngoc Trinh.

Additionally, Ngoc Trinh has completed a three-month program of fat reduction and muscle toning to regain her figure. During her detention, she couldn’t maintain her regular exercise routine or diet, which resulted in noticeable changes to her physique.
Previously, she had also spoken about this particular scar: “In the past, even a tiny scar would bother me immensely, and I’d fret over it constantly. But now, after going through more significant life events, I realize that these scars are just a minor detail in the grand scheme of things. They’re like fleeting marks in my life story. It’s all about perspective; ‘If you let go a little, you’ll gain a little happiness. If you let go a lot, you’ll gain a lot of happiness. And if you let go completely, you’ll gain freedom’ – Ajahn Chah.”
