Deepa shared that she has experienced several episodes of hair loss, including patchy bald spots.
According to The Sun, Deepa suffered from an autoimmune disorder where her immune system attacked her hair follicles, resulting in circular patches of hair loss. These flare-ups can occur rapidly and vary in severity, often triggered by stress, illness, or hormonal changes. While hair may regrow, there is a risk of future flare-ups.
During her recent hair loss episode, Deepa committed to three rules to improve her situation. “First, I addressed any nutritional deficiencies. Second, I focused on stress management techniques. And third, I adopted the AIP diet, which is the gold standard when it comes to autoimmunity,” Deepa explained.
The AIP diet she referred to is an eating plan designed to reduce inflammation and support healing in people with autoimmune issues. It eliminates potential immune-triggering foods, such as grains; dairy; beans; nightshades like tomatoes and peppers; processed foods; sugar; and alcohol. The diet primarily focuses on nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory foods such as lean meats, fish, vegetables (excluding nightshades), fruits, and healthy fats like olive and coconut oil.
Deepa’s hair showed noticeable improvement shortly after adopting the AIP diet, learning stress management, and identifying nutritional deficiencies.
Deepa also emphasized to her followers that hair regrowth is “absolutely possible” and encouraged everyone to “not lose hope.”
