The Hydroponic Peanut Planting Process

The Beauty of Hydroponic Peanuts

Select Your Peanuts:

When choosing your peanut seeds, opt for plump and juicy ones as they tend to have a higher success rate with the hydroponic method.

Soak the Peanuts:

Place your selected seeds in a bowl and cover them with water for a day. After soaking, gently wrap them in a damp cloth.

Germinate the Peanuts:

Place the damp cloth at the bottom of a container, spray it with water, and then add the soaked peanuts. Cover them with another damp cloth, spray once more, and close the container. Maintain an ideal temperature of around 25°C to encourage germination, which usually takes about four days.

Once the seeds have sprouted, carefully remove the brown husks to allow better development of the sprouts.

Planting Peanuts in Cups:

Repurpose tea cups for hydroponic planting. Cut out small holes in the lids, just large enough for the peanuts. Insert the peanuts with the sprouts facing downward and ensure that the growing tips touch the water.

Within a week, you’ll see green shoots, and the root system will start to lengthen. In just over two weeks, you’ll have a vibrant little plant.

Care Instructions:

Peanuts thrive in sunlight. Once new leaves appear, gradually increase their exposure to sunlight. However, avoid direct sunlight if temperatures are too high. If the weather is cool, and temperatures drop below 18°C, you can place the plant near a window to ensure it receives ample sunlight.

After the plant has taken root, there’s no need to change the water frequently. Just ensure that the water level always submerges the roots. For enhanced growth and faster flowering, add a mild nutrient solution to the water once the plant is established.

The Beauty of Peanut Flowers

With sufficient nutrients, your plant will soon grace you with beautiful yellow flowers, resembling tiny butterflies.
