Usually, when it comes to elastic bands, people only think of their uses such as tying hair or bags… However, in reality, these small elastic bands have more uses than you may think.

Secure clothes on hangers

If the hangers in your house don’t have secure hooks or if they are too big or too small, they may cause clothes to fall off when used. Instead of spending money to buy a new set of hangers, you can use these small but powerful elastic bands to solve this problem.

Firstly, you can take a few elastic bands and wrap them around both ends of the hanger. This way, the elastic bands will help secure the clothes and prevent them from slipping off the hanger.

Adjust the amount of liquid needed

Usually, items such as shower gel, hand wash, shampoo, or cosmetics are contained in small bottles with a press nozzle. Thanks to this convenient design, you can easily use them. However, if you accidentally press too hard, more liquid will come out than needed, resulting in waste.

Therefore, to prevent this situation, you can use a small elastic band to tie around the press nozzle to decrease its height. This way, each time you press the nozzle to get shower gel or shampoo, less liquid will come out, allowing you to easily control the amount of liquid needed.

Gather fallen hair at home

In winter, you may be startled to see many small strands of fallen hair around the house. Instead of using a vacuum cleaner or a broom to clean them up, you can use these small elastic bands.

You can connect 5 elastic bands together to form a long string, then wrap it around a clean slipper in a grid pattern. To increase their effectiveness, you can do the same with the remaining slipper. After completing this, simply wear the slippers and walk around the house. As you move across the floor, the elastic bands on the soles of your slippers will continuously rub against the ground, unintentionally catching the fallen hair.

For fallen hair on the sofa or the bed, you can take two round elastic bands and tie them around your palm. Then gently separate the two strands so that there is a small gap between them. Tie the elastic bands around your palm and rub them back and forth on the bedsheet or sofa several times to catch the fallen hair.

Prevent door from being locked

For some types of doors that easily get locked when closed, it can be inconvenient when you have guests or need frequent access. To solve this issue, you can use two elastic bands tied together to create a string with a sufficient length.

Then hang the two ends of the string onto the door handles so that the connection point presses against the latch of the lock. With this setup, your door will not be locked and you can simply push it open.

In case you only have a large elastic band, you can tie a knot in the middle and follow the same steps as above.

Neatly fold socks

Not everyone knows that small elastic bands can help you fold socks quickly and neatly. In this case, you can tie several elastic bands together to create a long string, then fold the socks and insert them through the loops of the bands. You can repeat this process until all the socks are nicely folded.
