Soda
A study from the Institute of Pediatric Nutrition in Germany found that soda is one of the foods that can cause early puberty in children because they contain a lot of sugar.
Children who drink a lot of soda are more likely to gain fat, have weak muscles, and gain weight quickly. According to research, overweight and obese girls may start puberty earlier than underweight and picky eaters.
Even more importantly, soda also contains a lot of glycemic – a substance that increases insulin levels and increases the ability to produce sex hormones that cause early puberty in girls.
Packaged fruit juice
The sweet taste and aroma of fresh fruit juice are particularly attractive and loved by many young children. There is no denying that fruit juice provides a lot of vitamins and minerals for the cognitive and physical development of children.
However, the opposite is true for packaged fruit juice bottles. They contain artificial sweeteners and preservatives to prolong shelf life, artificial flavors, and food coloring. All of these substances make children more likely to gain weight, be obese, and increase the risk of early puberty.
Energy drinks
According to Dr. Manny Alvarez (Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Science at Hackensack University Medical Center, USA), an energy drink contains caffeine levels 3-5 times higher than a soda can.
Energy drinks also have some undesirable side effects such as increased risk of heart disease, sleep disturbances, headaches, anxiety, and high blood pressure.
In addition, the composition of energy drinks contains a lot of sugar and additives that make children more likely to gain weight, be obese, and experience early puberty.
Soy milk
Soy milk contains a lot of protein as well as essential fatty acids for human beings. It also contains fiber, vitamin E, vitamin B, etc. However, if parents give their children too much soy milk, it can affect the overall development of the child and cause early puberty.
The reason is that soy milk contains isoflavones, which have estrogen-like activity. This is a type of hormone in the ovaries that plays a role in the growth and development of the sexual characteristics of girls.
