Ingredients for Pork Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
You will need 350g of pork loin, the desired amount of wonton wrappers, 1 cucumber, 1 carrot, a handful of green onion roots, 2g of salt, 10g of cornstarch (divided into two portions), 5g of cooking wine, a suitable amount of white sesame seeds, 10g of tomato sauce, 5g of soy sauce, and 50g of water.
How to make Pork Meatballs in Tomato Sauce
First, wash the pork loin thoroughly and pat it dry with paper towels. Then, slice the meat into thin slices and cut them into long strands before placing them in a bowl. Add salt, 5g of cornstarch, and cooking wine to the meat.
Rinse the carrot, cucumber, and green onion roots well, then slice them into strands and set aside.
Next, put on clean gloves and mix the ingredients well. Marinate the meat for about 15 minutes. You can also use ginger strands instead of cooking wine, just remember to remove the ginger after marinating.
Take out each wonton wrapper and brush a thin layer of oil on each one. Stack them on top of each other, about 5-8 wrappers per stack. Then gently press the edges with your fingers to stick them together.
Use a rolling pin to roll out each stack of wrappers, forming a large round wrapper.
Steam the wrappers in a steamer pot with boiling water over high heat for 10 minutes, then remove them immediately while still hot.
Prepare the sauce mixture by mixing 20g of chicken bouillon, tomato sauce, soy sauce, the remaining 5g of cornstarch, and 50g of water in a bowl. Heat a little oil in a pan, stir-fry the meat, then pour in the sauce mixture and stir well. Sprinkle white sesame seeds on top and turn off the heat.
Finally, lay out the wonton wrappers, place the vegetables and stir-fried meat on top, then roll them up. Place the meatballs on a plate to complete.
