Tofu is a simple, affordable dish that many people love. Tofu can be eaten directly or fried, with tomato sauce, or cooked in soup… One of the familiar methods that many people like when processing tofu is frying.

Ingredients:

– Tofu (Note, if you want crispy fried tofu, you must choose firm tofu)

– Cooking oil

Salt

Instructions:

– The first step is to dry the tofu:

Clean the tofu and wash it. You can leave the tofu in the refrigerator for about 15-30 minutes.

– Take out the tofu, use a paper towel to dry the water on the surface of the tofu, and then cut it into bite-sized pieces. This helps to reduce oil splatter during frying and prevents the tofu from sticking to the pan. Moreover, dry tofu will be crispier.

– The second step is to sprinkle salt in the pan

After pouring oil into the pan, don’t immediately put the tofu in to fry. Instead, sprinkle a little salt into the oil and then proceed to fry the tofu to prevent it from breaking and sticking to the pan.

Another tip is to heat the pan, add salt grains, roast them evenly until they turn into ashes, then remove the salt, and pour in the oil to fry the tofu as usual. Besides preventing oil splatter, salt also helps to eliminate toxins when the oil is heated at high temperatures.

Another important note is that the frying oil must be hot enough and the tofu should be fully immersed in the oil. To have golden crispy skin and soft inside, the tofu must be fried with enough oil. If you use less oil, the tofu will take longer to cook, and moreover, when using less oil, the oil will penetrate into the tofu, which will affect the taste.

It is best to pour oil into the pan, fry until the tofu turns golden on medium heat, then remove it and let it drain. When adding the tofu, do not immediately flip or turn it over; wait for one side to turn golden before flipping the other side to continue frying because tofu is very fragile. After frying both sides to a golden crisp, put the tofu on a plate and enjoy it while it’s hot.
