Ingredients for making Salted Sung
- 1kg of sung fruit

- 3 tablespoons of salt
Prepare the sung fruit
- Rinse and soak the sung in diluted salt water for about 20 minutes, then cut it into bite-sized thin slices. Then soak it in a mixture of salt and lime for about 20 minutes, then scoop it out and rinse it until all the seeds are gone.
- Continue to soak the sung with 500ml of nuoc mam vinegar and 1 tablespoon of salt for 30 minutes to reduce the bitter taste of the sung.
Prepare other ingredients
- Peel and cut the ginger into thin slices, finely chop 1 clove of garlic and slice the other clove, remove the seeds from the chili peppers and slice them.
Salt the sung
- First, boil the mixture of 190ml of fish sauce, 210g of sugar, and 100ml of nuoc mam vinegar. Cover and simmer until the sugar is dissolved, then let it cool.
- Then use a ladle to put the sung into the cooled vinegar and sugar mixture, then add the ginger, chili peppers, and garlic. Mix well to marinate. Finally, put it in a glass jar.
