Mướp is a food that contains a lot of water and good nutrients for health such as vitamin B1, vitamin C, protein, carbohydrate, iron, calcium… so many people have lovingly called mướp “the ginseng of the poor”.

With this ingredient, you can cook many delicious dishes such as stir-fried mướp with meat, soup with crab, morning glory, mướp, soup cooked with dried shrimp… Besides, you can also combine mướp with fresh shrimp to make stuffed mướp following the simple recipe below.

1. Ingredients for stuffed mướp with shrimp:

– Fresh shrimp: 300 grams

– Mướp: about 3 fruits

– Green onion

– Egg white: 1/2

– Corn starch

– Spices: Salt, ground pepper, soy sauce, sugar

2. How to make stuffed mướp with shrimp:

Step 1: Prepare the ingredients

– After buying fresh shrimp, rinse them clean. Then peel off the outer shell and only keep the tail of 7 shrimps, discard the head and the black thread. Use a knife to cut the back of 7 shrimps and then roll them into a circle shape. For the remaining shrimp, mince them.

– Peel the mướp, wash it and cut it into pieces about 3.5 cm long.

– Remove any damaged or yellow leaves from the green onion, wash it and cut it into pieces.

– Take a small bowl, add 1 tablespoon of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of water, then use chopsticks to stir well to make a starch solution.

Step 2: Marinate the shrimp

– Marinate the minced shrimp with a little salt, ground pepper, egg white.

– Use cooking utensils like chopsticks or spoons to mix the ingredients together.

Step 3: Stuff the shrimp into the mướp

– Use a spoon to scoop out 2/3 of the mướp core and then put the minced shrimp into it. Then place the rolled shrimp on top of it and put the mướp piece on a plate.

Step 4: Prepare the sauce

– Bring a bowl of water to boil and then add soy sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, corn starch solution one by one.

– Boil the mixture over high heat until the sauce thickens, then add the chopped green onion and continue to cook.

Step 5: Steam the stuffed mướp with shrimp

– Place the steamer on the stove, add water and bring it to a boil, then steam the prepared mướp dish for about 10 minutes.

– When the stuffed mướp with shrimp is cooked, put it on a plate, pour the sauce over it and enjoy.

After finishing the dish, stuffed mướp with shrimp will have a delicious and enticing aroma. When eating, you will feel the coolness of mướp combined with the sweet and fragrant shrimp, which is nutritious.
