This guide will help you determine if a dish or container can be used in a microwave.
1. Fill a cup with cold water that is safe for microwave use.
2. Place the dish or container you want to test in the microwave.
3. Position the cup of water next to the dish in the microwave.
4. Set the microwave to High for 15 seconds and turn it on.
5. After 15 seconds, check the temperature of the dish and water. If the dish is hot and the water is cold, the dish is not safe to use in the microwave. If both the dish and the water are cold, continue the test.
6. Repeat the test by placing the dish and the cup of water back in the microwave. Set the microwave to 30 seconds.
7. If both the dish and the water are still cold after 30 seconds, continue the test by setting the microwave to 1 minute.
8. After 1 minute, check if the dish is cold and the water is hot. If so, the dish can be used in the microwave for heating and cooking.
Remember, if the dish becomes hot during the testing process, it is not safe to use in the microwave. Only use dishes that remain cold.
