1Different Selling Prices

Genuine local chicken eggs are typically priced between 30,000 – 45,000 VND. However, it is important to note that genuine local chicken eggs will never be priced below 30,000 VND per dozen. 2Color of the Eggshell

Local chicken eggs typically have a slightly pinkish-white color, and freshly laid eggs may have a thin membrane. To better observe the color, you can hold the egg up to sunlight. The surface of local eggs will be smooth and shiny.

On the other hand, industrial chicken eggs tend to have a slightly brighter and darker pink color. When held in the hand, they will feel more fragile and lighter. The outer shell will also be cleaner and larger compared to local chicken eggs.

3Sense of Crispness of the Eggshell

Industrial chicken eggshells, when cracked, will usually be crisp due to the presence of corroding chemicals. The shell will be crushed, the inner membrane will weaken, and the yolk and egg white will easily detach from the shell. Gentle shaking of the egg will result in noticeable movement, indicating that the yolk and egg white no longer stick to the shell.

On the contrary, local chicken eggshells are usually tougher and more difficult to break. When you shake a local egg, you won’t feel much movement inside because the membrane between the yolk and egg white is firmly attached to the shell.

4Distinguish by the Egg White and Yolk

The egg white and yolk of local chicken eggs will be firm and opaque. When you smell them, you will notice a fishy smell.

On the other hand, the egg white and yolk of industrial chicken eggs will be runny and paler in color. Additionally, they won’t have a fishy smell but might have a smell of chicken feed or other sour, rotten, or strange chemicals.
