How to prepare shiitake mushrooms
You can prepare shiitake mushrooms in 2 ways:
– Method 1: Take the mushrooms out of the packaging and use a knife to cut off the mushroom stems. Finally, rinse the mushrooms twice with clean water and gently remove the mushroom threads.
– Method 2: Cut off the mushroom stems (including the mushroom bag) and then turn the mushroom bag upside down and pour in water. Then use your hand to gently shake the mushroom bag and pour out the water. When using, simply remove the entire mushroom bag and gently separate the mushroom threads. This method helps to make the mushrooms cleaner.
Some things to note before cooking
– You should not buy shiitake mushrooms that have expired, are not properly stored, as they can easily be contaminated with bacteria and cause food poisoning when eaten.
– It is best to choose fresh mushrooms that are not crushed, with intact stems and no signs of slime.
– You should store shiitake mushrooms in the refrigerator at a temperature of 1-5 degrees Celsius (use within 45 days). If storing shiitake mushrooms at room temperature (depending on the weather where you live), they should only be used within 1-3 days.
– There are currently 2 types of shiitake mushrooms on the market, one is white and the other is yellow. Both types have the same nutrients and benefits.
