Waking up too early in the morning
While it’s commonly believed that early to bed and early to rise is beneficial for one’s health, this doesn’t mean you should wake up excessively early. Ideally, one should wake up around 6 am in the summer and a little later during winter. Waking up too early, just like staying up too late, can disrupt your health, especially if it results in a lack of sleep.
When you wake up too early, your blood flow may not have fully circulated yet, leading to symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, reduced concentration, and irritability.
Additionally, waking up too early can disrupt your body’s natural rhythm, potentially affecting bodily functions and increasing the risk of digestive issues, obesity, cardiovascular problems, cerebrovascular diseases, and immune-related conditions.
Holding your pee and not using the toilet when you first wake up
Instead of jumping into other activities after waking up, it’s advisable to use the toilet first if you feel the urge to go.
Holding your pee in the morning can be dangerous. Overnight, your body accumulates toxins, and it’s best to eliminate waste as soon as possible to maintain optimal health. Prolonged retention of waste can lead to the growth of bacteria, increasing the risk of urinary tract and bladder infections, which can then affect the kidneys and liver. Additionally, this habit can cause constipation, hemorrhoids, or anal fissures.
Therefore, if you need to use the toilet after waking up, prioritize it before engaging in other activities.
Skipping breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so don’t skip it! After a night of sleep, your stomach is empty, and the acid in your stomach can irritate and erode the gastric mucosa, leading to ulcers and gastritis, as well as elevated blood pressure. Additionally, when your body is deprived of food, it releases thyroid and pituitary hormones to provide energy, which, over time, can lead to hyperthyroidism.
Even if you’re in a rush, make sure to eat something in the morning to maintain your health. Quick breakfast options include boiled eggs, bananas, or a few slices of wholemeal bread with a glass of milk.
Some morning tips for a healthy body
After waking up, don’t jump out of bed immediately. Lie in bed for about 5 minutes to allow your body to adjust, then get up. Suddenly leaping out of bed can cause dizziness, headaches, falls, and even strokes. Instead, try some gentle stretches while still in bed, such as shoulder rolls and leg stretches, before getting up.
Drink a glass of warm water or lemon honey water to help detoxify your body.
Use the toilet first thing in the morning before engaging in other activities.
Avoid drinking coffee on an empty stomach.
If you’re short on time, opt for convenient yet nutritious breakfast options that can be prepared in advance, such as boiled eggs, bananas, salads, wholemeal bread, oatmeal, or nutritional bars.
