Lemon Ginger Tea

Lemons are rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants, which help stimulate the liver to produce detox enzymes. Ginger, on the other hand, offers anti-inflammatory benefits and supports kidney function.

Directions: Combine the juice of one lemon and a thumb-sized piece of grated ginger with 250ml of warm water (around 40°C). Drink this first thing in the morning to kickstart your day.

Note: Avoid using water that is too hot as it can reduce the nutritional value of the lemon juice.

Celery Juice

Celery is a great source of apigenin and luteolin, which reduce inflammation and support liver detoxification. It also acts as a diuretic, taking the load off the kidneys.

Directions: Wash 3-4 celery stalks and extract the juice. You can dilute it with 100ml of water if desired. Drink this 15 minutes before breakfast.

Note: Those with low blood pressure should consult a doctor before consuming celery juice regularly.

Artichoke Tea

Artichoke tea is packed with cynarin and silymarin, two compounds that aid in liver cell regeneration and enhance the body’s detoxification process. This tea also helps the kidneys filter waste more efficiently.

Directions: Simmer 5-7 slices of dried (or fresh) artichoke in 500ml of water for about 10 minutes. Let it cool down a bit and enjoy your tea in the morning.

Note: A drizzle of honey can make this tea more palatable, but avoid overdoing it with sugar.

Turmeric Ginger Water

Both turmeric and ginger possess potent anti-inflammatory properties, aiding the liver in its detoxification process. Curcumin, found in turmeric, also protects the kidneys from oxidative damage.

Directions: Slice a small piece of ginger and a fresh turmeric root (or use 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder). Boil them with 300ml of water for 5 minutes. Strain the liquid, let it cool, and drink up!

Note: Adding a few drops of lemon juice enhances the absorption of curcumin.

Cucumber Mint Detox Water

Cucumbers are packed with water and minerals, making them a natural diuretic that cleanses the kidneys. Mint aids digestion and supports the liver’s detoxification process.

Directions: Slice half a cucumber and add it to a jug along with 5-6 mint leaves and 500ml of water. Leave it overnight in the fridge. Enjoy your infused water in the morning.

Note: For added flavor, toss in a few lemon slices or a green apple.
