Using soft brushes or iron brushes to clean pots and pans is a common practice in many kitchens. However, it can negatively impact the quality and lifespan of the cookware. To preserve the integrity of your pots and pans, here are two alternative methods for cleaning them without using an iron brush.
Cleaning pots and pans with lime
To clean your pots and pans, start by slicing a lime into moderately sized pieces. Place the lime slices into the cookware that needs to be cleaned, then add dishwashing liquid and a small amount of water. Bring the mixture to a boil for approximately one minute, then turn off the heat. This method effectively removes tough stains, grease, and unpleasant odors. Finally, rinse the pots and pans with water to complete the cleaning process.
Using a dishcloth to clean oily pans and pots
If you’re dealing with oil-based stains, you can follow these steps. Begin by pouring approximately 200ml of water into the pot or pan and bringing it to a boil. Next, add dishwashing liquid to the boiling water. Once the liquid is boiling, place a dishcloth into the pot or pan and use chopsticks to scrub all surfaces, targeting grease stains or stubborn burnt stains. Once the stains have been removed, rinse the cookware with dishwashing liquid and a dish sponge to eliminate any remaining grease residue.
The above mentioned cleaning methods can be applied to any type of pot or pan, ensuring optimal cleanliness and longevity.
