The year 2024 marks the 17th year of the Vinamilk Vietnam Reaching for Height Milk Fund, with 630,000 boxes of milk gifted to nearly 8,000 underprivileged children across the country. Beyond bringing the “joy of drinking milk” to hundreds of thousands of children, the program has been a constant companion, sharing care and love with children in difficult circumstances on special occasions such as June 1st, Mid-Autumn Festival, and the start of the school year.
This June 1st, Vinamilk and the Milk Fund visited social welfare centers in Can Tho city, which are home to over 100 underprivileged, orphaned, and homeless children. This is also the fifth consecutive year that children in Can Tho have been receiving milk through the Milk Program.
Since May 2024, 1,179 children in Can Tho city have been drinking milk daily from the Milk Fund, with 106,110 boxes of milk donated.
The June 1st celebration was made more festive with boxes of milk and bread and milk, which the children loved.
“The Vietnam Child Protection Fund has accompanied Vinamilk for 17 years in the Vietnam Reaching for Height Milk Fund Program. In addition to the annual milk drinking events, we always organize visits to get closer to and understand the confidences, wishes, and dreams of the children, as well as to better support the welfare centers,” said Vu Thi Thuy Huyen, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Child Protection Fund.
Nutrition Support for “Little Police Warriors”
The “Learn to be a Police Warrior” summer camp in 2024 started in June and lasted for six weeks. Each course lasted eight days, during which the participants lived in a military environment and experienced the life of police officers. This year, Vinamilk joined hands to provide nutritional support with 10,000 milk and water products for the young warriors throughout the five courses, benefiting nearly 1,000 children.

This is a very beneficial activity that helps children develop their physical strength, discipline, independence, and determination to overcome difficulties. Moreover, through the summer camp, the children are also nurtured with love for their homeland. Vinamilk is delighted to be a “friend” in the young warriors’ backpacks, providing the energy they need to complete their assigned tasks, shared by Nguyen Thi Minh Tam, Director of Vinamilk Hanoi Branch.
A Day as a “Vinamilk Super Factory Employee”
Every year, Vinamilk organizes tours of its factories and farms for employees’ children. This year’s destination was the Vietnam Dairy Factory in Binh Duong – one of the largest and most modern dairy factories in terms of capacity and technology.
This activity gives children valuable experiences and insights into where Vinamilk milk powder tins they drink every day are produced. It also helps the “little members” of the Vinamilk family understand their parents’ work better and learn about different job positions in the factory, thereby helping them envision their future careers.

Kicking Off an Exciting Summer
Since 2001, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has designated June 1st as World Milk Day, which also coincides with International Children’s Day. Therefore, Vinamilk has been accompanying the Vietnam Dairy Association in bringing the “International Dairy and Dairy Products Exhibition” with special activities for children.
In a colorful setting, Vinamilk organized vibrant activities such as flash mobs, kid shows, free painting areas, and performances by skilled baristas. Children also got to enjoy creative drinks made from Vinamilk products.
Vinamilk’s activity area on June 1st welcomed nearly 1,000 children at the 2024 International Dairy Exhibition.
Additionally, in the Vinamilk zone at the event, children participated in environmentally-focused activities like “Exchange Milk Carton for Vinamilk’s Green Gifts” and “Check-in to Contribute to Vinamilk’s Net Zero Forest.”
Also, to encourage environmental protection, Vinamilk supported the “Recycling for Gifts” program in Can Tho city and presented 150 gifts to underprivileged children who excelled in their studies.
