On February 12th (the 3rd day of Lunar New Year), the Ministry of Health reported that according to the reports from the health facilities under the Ministry of Health, 63 health facilities and hospitals nationwide, from 7am on February 8th to 7am on February 11th (from the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the 2nd day of the 1st lunar month), there were over 151,000 patients who came for examination and emergency treatment.
The total number of inpatients was over 61,300 people. Both of these figures increased compared to the same period of the previous Lunar New Year, with increases of 4.5% and 1%, respectively.

Doctors performed emergency surgery on nearly 7,300 cases, a 3.3% increase compared to the previous Lunar New Year. Over 7,600 babies were born (both through normal delivery and C-section), an almost 10% increase compared to the previous Lunar New Year 2023.
According to the Ministry of Health, during the above-mentioned period, there were a total of 9,920 cases of examination and emergency treatment due to traffic accidents, a decrease of 14.4% compared to the previous Lunar New Year 2023. The number of cases of examination and emergency treatment due to traffic accidents accounted for 6.6% of the total number of cases of examination and emergency treatment.
Among them, there were nearly 4,800 cases that required hospitalization (accounting for 48.3% of the total cases), an increase of 9.6% compared to the Lunar New Year 2023. There were 67 cases of death due to traffic accidents, a decrease of 17 cases (20.2%) compared to the Lunar New Year 2023.
Especially, regarding accidents caused by fireworks and explosives, there were 453 cases of examination and emergency treatment due to various types of fireworks and explosives, which was more than 129 cases compared to the previous Lunar New Year 2023, with no fatalities. There were 55 cases of emergency treatment due to accidents involving homemade weapons and explosives, and 24 cases that required hospitalization for treatment and monitoring.
