A mother’s hilarious tale: A seven-year-old girl gets stuck in a window frame, leaving her parents in a panic.
As summer break begins, parents like Ms. Mai, a mother of four from Thanh Hoa, are feeling the stress of their children’s playful antics.

“On June 1st, after lunch, I asked my two younger children to take a nap in the room on the second floor,” Ms. Mai recounted. “Instead of sleeping, they started playing a game of climbing out the window.”
The window was about a meter above the floor, located near the main entrance, with a small hallway in front of it. Ms. Mai’s daughter tried to squeeze through the window bars to get back into the room but ended up getting her head stuck.
Upon seeing this, Ms. Mai was initially startled but quickly regained her composure, understanding that the situation could be handled. She took out her phone to record the incident as evidence to admonish her children later. Then, together with her husband, they carefully extracted their daughter from the window.
“We got her out the same way she got in,” Ms. Mai said with a mix of laughter and tears. “To be honest, at that moment, she was more afraid of being scolded by me than she was of being stuck.”
With four children, Ms. Mai has always enforced a strict discipline regime. For her older children, she expects independence, while for her younger ones, she keeps a close eye on them to prevent dangerous situations.
“To be fair, children are naturally active, and parents can sometimes be negligent,” she admitted. “I’ve already sent my three older children to swimming lessons to prevent drowning, and my youngest will start this summer. For energetic children like mine, parents have no choice but to be extra vigilant during the summer break.”
Parents’ helplessness and grandparents’ health issues
Ms. Nguyen Chi Le, a mother of two boys, aged 8 and 6, from Nghe An, shared a similar experience. She sent her children to their maternal grandparents’ house for the summer break, joining their two cousins. The usually quiet home of Ms. Le’s parents was suddenly filled with the laughter and shouts of four energetic children.

Ms. Le recently shared a photo on social media of her children covered in mud from head to toe after helping their grandmother in the fields. The image, which seemed like something out of a movie, was accompanied by the caption: “Just one day, and they’re already like this. I was shouting myself hoarse.”
This post quickly gained a lot of attention online.
“My mother-in-law was planting rice, and the children insisted on helping. At 5 p.m., when the sun was scorching hot, they ran straight into the field,” Ms. Le recounted. “One wanted to plant rice, another wanted to catch crabs and snails for grandma. I was helping my mother too, and I felt helpless seeing them like that.”
At the end of the day, the children returned with their entire bodies caked in mud and a plastic bag full of snails, tadpoles, and even leeches, much to Ms. Le’s horror.
Over the past few days, Ms. Le and her parents have felt overwhelmed by the children’s energetic antics. The four children, being around the same age, egged each other on, resulting in frequent shouting and crying throughout the day.
“My mother can handle it, but my father has high blood pressure,” Ms. Le shared. “The plan was for the children to stay for a week, but after just three days, I had to bring all four of them back to my house.”
However, the situation didn’t improve much at her home. “Their mischievous behavior startled my mother-in-law and husband,” she said. “In short, they can play together for a few days, but a whole week would be too much for me to handle.”

Mr. Hai from Son La province had a similar experience with his 6-year-old son during the summer break. A few days ago, he and his wife witnessed their youngest son accidentally breaking their TV while playing with a pickleball paddle.
Mr. Hai shared a humorous video of the incident on TikTok, captioned: “The summer break has just started, and my monthly salary is already gone.” The video quickly gained thousands of views.
According to Mr. Hai, his son was playing with the pickleball paddle inside their small living room. The TV was mounted on the wall opposite the couch, and within a few seconds, the ball hit the TV screen, causing it to shatter.
“The 43-inch TV, which I bought for 9 million VND two years ago, was shattered in an instant,” Mr. Hai recounted. “My wife and I were helpless witnesses to the whole thing.”
Going forward, Mr. Hai plans to send his two children to their grandparents’ houses for the rest of the summer break. “My in-laws have two TVs, and I wonder what their fate will be,” he joked.
