At 92 years young, Edna May Giordano of Kelowna, Canada, continues to astonish people with her youthful appearance and robust health. Refusing to let age hinder her mobility and strength, she has shared her formula for staying forever young without adhering to strict diets.

Edna attributes her ageless appearance to her consistent self-care and a simple yet effective exercise routine. Since turning 60, she has embraced weight training and cardio workouts, coupled with outdoor activities like tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Yoga and Pilates are also integral pillars in her weekly exercise regimen, proving that maintaining a flexible and robust body is a top priority.

“I have no secrets—I exercise because it makes me feel good afterward,” shared Edna, a retired hospital cleaner, in 2023. “There are days when I don’t feel like moving, but I push through. I know that if I don’t use it, I’ll lose it.”

Edna’s daughter, 58-year-old Dalyce Radtke, a fitness instructor, believes her mother’s youthful appearance is also due to her confidence and independence. “My mother chooses clothing that makes her feel comfortable, rather than what society typically thinks an ‘elderly lady’ should wear,” Dalyce has said. “She’s not afraid to wear trendy outfits, even at her age.” Dalyce’s passion for fitness began over 30 years ago when she purchased her first gym membership.

Now, the duo is determined to prove that “age is just a state of mind,” and their positive attitude towards aging is the secret to staying young. “My mother thinks people make too much fuss about age and its limitations,” Dalyce shared. “She loves life and cherishes her independence.”

“She’s surprised that many people don’t choose to do everything they can to live their best lives. The way we think about aging plays a significant role in keeping both my mother and me feeling youthful,” she added. “Aging is inevitable, but the number of years you’ve lived doesn’t have to limit what you can do or achieve. If you develop consistent habits like eating well, staying active, and practicing gratitude daily, age will just be a number on your journey.”
