With creativity and skill, you can transform simple pieces of paper into adorable and attractive lanterns. Let’s discover how to make a cost-effective and cute lantern using simple paper towels!
Equipment needed
- 1 balloon
- 1 paintbrush
- Glue, adhesive
- Paper towels
- Flower petals and leaves
- Steel wire
- Lantern string
How to make
Step 1: Use food wrap to wrap the balloon.
Step 2: In a small bowl, mix glue, and water to create a mixture.
Step 3: Tear the paper towels into pieces. Use a brush to apply the mixture onto the balloon. Then, apply the paper towels onto the surface of the balloon. Brush the mixture once again onto the paper towels and repeat this process until covering 2/3 of the balloon.
Step 4: Continue to use a brush and the glue mixture to attach flower petals and leaves onto the balloon. Then, cover the balloon 2/3 more with another layer of paper towels.
Step 5: When the glue is dry and hard, use a needle to deflate the balloon and remove the balloon and food wrap.
Step 6: Bend the steel wire into a circle that fits the opening of the lantern. Tie the lantern string around the steel wire and use adhesive to attach the wire to the opening of the lantern.
