4 How to eliminate the smell of pig liver during cooking
Due to its role in filtering blood and waste substances, pig liver can have a distinctive and sometimes unpleasant smell. To eliminate this odor, we recommend the following three methods:
Use vinegar
Step 1: Use a knife to remove the thin membrane covering the outside of the liver.
Step 2: Cut the liver in half and remove the white membrane inside, which is responsible for the odor.
Step 3: Squeeze the liver with a small amount of vinegar to neutralize the smell.
Step 4: Rinse the liver with cold water.
Use salt
Step 1: Use a knife to remove the thin membrane covering the outside of the liver.
Step 2: Cut the liver in half and remove the white membrane inside, which is responsible for the odor.
Step 3: Use a fork to cross-hatch the surface of each side of the liver, creating a criss-cross pattern.
Step 4: Spread salt all over the liver and let it sit for 2-3 minutes before rinsing with clean water. Repeat this process 3-4 times to eliminate the odor.
Use white wine
Step 1: Use a knife to remove the thin membrane covering the outside of the liver.
Step 2: Cut the liver in half and remove the white membrane inside, which is responsible for the odor.
Step 3: Wash the liver with water mixed with a small amount of white wine, focusing on the areas where the white membrane was removed. Avoid squeezing too hard.
Step 4: Boil the liver in water with a little salt if you prefer a crispier texture. Once the liver turns slightly pink, remove it from the water and soak it in cold water.
We hope these methods have been helpful. Wishing you success in your cooking endeavors!
