Time magazine (US) conducted a survey of readers on Quora and drew valuable lessons that most people are not taught in school.
1. Speak with thoughtfulness
One important thing that every student should know is to speak with thoughtfulness. This quality helps you build good social relationships, make a good impression when communicating with others. It is also an opportunity to express your opinion to others.
2. “Learn” from successful people
If you want to succeed, you have to learn to “learn” from successful people around you. Seek them out, learn from them, and may copy the good things, habits for their success.
With discipline, you can achieve any skills you want. The only thing that prevents us from achieving our goals is the lack of discipline. Sometimes we indulge ourselves to not go to school early, not meet others; but with discipline, we will prevent laziness and live by the right principles to succeed.
4. Know what you don’t know
The difference between successful people and the rest is that they know what questions to ask, know what needs improvement. They are honest with what they don’t know.
5. Build attraction
You may not be intelligent, not as attractive on the outside but still can succeed if you have the ability to make others willing to help you. Attractive people are those who make others feel comfortable, always be there when others need and have the ability to inspire others.
6. Accept and move on
Accept that life is not as desired. Accept those who don’t behave the way you want. Accept that you can’t please everyone. Understand that happiness is within your reach.
7. Turn difficulties into opportunities
The weak will fail in the face of difficulties, the strong will know how to survive through that. The obstacles are not in themselves but in our behavior, our perspective to overcome difficulties. Turn difficulties into opportunities to challenge yourself and know the hidden strength of every individual.
8. Speed reading
Learn how to read fast with high concentration. Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger spend 80% of their time reading books each day. 86% of successful people like to read books.
9. Control anger
Mastery of this skill will make your mind comfortable and reduce stress; at the same time, direct positive emotions to those around you.
10. Sense of humor
Making people laugh all the time is not an easy skill because it requires humor and the charm of a person. Those who have a sense of humor will solve many difficulties in any situation.
