Time magazine (US) conducted a survey of readers on Quora and drew valuable lessons that most people are not taught in school.
1. Speak thoughtfully
One very important thing that every student should know is to speak with thoughtfulness, which helps you build good social relationships, make an impression when communicating with others. It is also an opportunity to express your views to people.
2. “Learn” from successful people
If you want to succeed, you have to learn to “learn” from successful people around you. Seek them out, learn from them and may even copy good things, habits for their success.
3. Disciplined
With discipline, you can achieve any skill you want. The only thing that prevents us from achieving our goals is the lack of discipline. Sometimes we pamper ourselves to avoid going to school early, avoid meeting others; but with discipline, we can prevent laziness and live according to the right rules for success.
4. Know what you don’t know
The difference between successful people and the rest is that they know the questions to ask and know what needs improvement. They are honest about what they don’t know.
5. Build attraction
You may not be smart, not externally attractive but still can succeed if you can make people willing to help you. Attractive people are those who make others feel comfortable, always be there when others need and have the ability to inspire.
6. Accept and move on
Accept that life is not as you wish. Accept people who do not behave as you want. Accept that you cannot please everyone. Understand that happiness is within your reach.
7. Turn difficulties into opportunities
The weak will fail before difficulties, the strong will know how to survive them. The obstacles do not lie in themselves but in how we behave, how we see them to overcome difficulties. Turn difficulties into opportunities to challenge yourself and discover the hidden strength of each person.
8. Read fast
Learn to read quickly with intense focus. Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger spend 80% of their time reading books. 86% of successful people love reading books.
9. Control anger
Mastering this skill will make your mind comfortable and reduce stress; at the same time, it directs positive emotions to those around you.
10. Sense of humor
Making people laugh is not an easy skill because it requires humor and the charm of a person. Those with a sense of humor will solve many difficulties in any situation.
