1. Look at the top of the cantaloupe

This is the most important point. A fully grown cantaloupe will have many small circles on the top. The more small circles there are, the more the cantaloupe expands and absorbs light. Therefore, the cantaloupe will taste sweeter.

A cantaloupe with fewer small circles means that it is not ripe enough and will taste both bland and lack aroma. So, always choose a cantaloupe with many small circles on the stem.

2. Look at the shape of the cantaloupe

Normally, cantaloupes have an oval shape. If a cantaloupe has a shape with two pointed ends, it means that it does not receive enough light, and the water content in the cantaloupe will be affected to some extent, leading to a significant decrease in its taste.

A good cantaloupe receives sufficient light, is juicy, tastes sweet, and is delicious.

3. Feel the cantaloupe with your hands

The tip of a ripe cantaloupe becomes soft gradually. When you buy a cantaloupe, press the tip with your hand. If you feel it is soft but still elastic, go ahead and buy it. Such a cantaloupe will have a unique sweet taste.
