3Poems Dedicated to the Brave Border Guards

Poems Dedicated to the Brave Border Guards

Poem: Loving the Border Guard Soldier

In the sleepless rain of Nậm Càn,

Your steps incline the borderland’s sky.

The village trusts, loves the green uniform,

Guarding peaceful slumbers of innocent children…

Each river, mountain, and misty cloud,

Shape our homeland’s majestic form.

Amidst looming dangers and trials,

You steadfastly protect our homeland.

When tilling the fields with the locals,

Or welcoming spring with their festive tunes,

The falling Pao fruit hesitates to speak,

Of my love for the frontier soldier…

The Mong boys and girls, by your side,

Guard the borders, night and day.

In the sylvan haze of Nậm Khiên, Nặm Cắn, Nậm Càn,

The people trust the Border Guard.

Their songs echo memories of you,

And your flute’s melody keeps them awake at night.

I love you, oh Border Guard soldier…

Poem: The Beauty and the Border Guard Soldier

The beauty doesn’t sleep in her castle,

But by the hearth, awaiting your return.

The Border Guard patrols the frontier at night,

Bringing the forest’s breeze up the stairs.

The beauty sits by the fire, peeling bamboo shoots,

Their white flesh like her fair wrists.

The gleaming knife slices through with precision,

Her eyes, sharp as the blade, cutting through the night.

The Border Guard teases with a playful quip,

Eliciting a shy smile from her lips.

Her white teeth, rosy lips, a delightful sight,

Yet her hands modestly hide from view.

The beauty awaits your return each night,

By the hearth, drying the mountain dew.

The boiling cassava, sweet potato, and honeyed invitations,

“Eat more,” she insists, her joy incomplete without your satisfaction.

For the long, steep path ahead, the night is long,

And the Border Guard ventures into the falling rain.

The beauty descends to bid farewell –

“Sleep well, Noọng,” she whispers, her voice a familiar sweetness along the border trail.

Poem: The Last Page of the Calendar

Bring me a hint of the chilly wind,

To close a frigid winter day.

The last page of the calendar bids farewell to a hurried year,

Welcoming the fragrant spring to bloom anew.

Bring me a touch of green,

From the forests embracing our motherland.

Dye the soldiers’ uniforms with nature’s palette,

As they bravely patrol our borders.

Bring me a ray of sunshine,

As the dusk lingers on the mountain’s edge.

The birds sing in unison, hidden in the bushes,

While children carry firewood on their backs.

Bring me a piece of your longing,

From the distant land you guard.

Let the night cast its blanket of warmth,

Where love endures, never growing old.

Poem: Waiting for Spring with You

Has winter’s chill faded away, my love?

The sky is bright, bathed in gentle sun.

The streets buzz with bustling crowds,

Yet soon, you’ll depart as spring draws near.

The borderland’s call beckons you home,

Where flowers bloom to the melody of our homeland.

Anger transforms into affection – a familiar tune from our native land,

Where peace reigns, a reflection of your serene soul.

I long to journey to your native land,

To understand the profound bond of the frontier.

Whether it’s the distant sea or the border marker,

I want to walk with you to new horizons…

Here, I pen these verses, filled with anticipation,

Sending them with you, carrying my fervent wait.

Waiting for spring, when our azure eyes meet,

Walking together in the rosy dawn.

Poem: The Lesson Plan on the Frontier

Why are you still awake on this chilly night, my love?

Are you waiting with a heart full of longing?

In the wee hours, I hastily scribble these lines,

Sending them to you as winter arrives in your hometown.

Have you read my poems before, my love?

Do you understand the soldier’s heart?

For the frontier’s peace, I count the miles,

Heeding the call of our beloved land.

Our nation’s sky and sea stretch infinitely,

And though I wander far, my heart remembers.

Memories of joy and sorrow intertwine,

And we laugh, recalling our foolish youth.

These verses, “brought and taken back,”(*) stir my heart,

Evoking emotions I can’t suppress.

The frontier’s winter is beautiful, my love,

And tomorrow’s lesson plan shines with warmth…

Poem: Golden Season on the Frontier

As the lowland fields sprout new green,

The golden season arrives on the frontier.

In October, the borderland’s sun still scorches,

And the afternoon storm casts a mottled hue on the fields.

In the distant mist, the golden fields glow,

Heavy with grains that speak of deep affection.

Soldiers and civilians, like fish and water,

Unite to fortify our nation’s walls.

In the golden season, nimble hands work in unison,

The young soldier, after tilling the soil, sows the seeds,

Then joins the villagers in the harvest,

Laughter and sweat mingling in the breeze.

In this joy, the landscape flourishes with vibrant green,

Bringing change and warmth to their lives.

The young soldier whispers to the new rice,

Knowing soon, the village will feast.

Poem: Smile

Whether it’s a sunny or rainy day,

Your smile remains radiant and sublime.

Adorned in the green uniform, with the Border Guard insignia on your shoulders,

You blend seamlessly with the clear sky and vibrant nature.

Your smile blooms beneath the canopy,

Like autumn’s hues painting the path.

Your smile, so familiar and endearing,

Belongs to the frontier soldier, returning from each patrol.

Your smile gently flows like a serene stream,

Accompanying your footsteps with graceful ease.

It blends with the vast horizon at dusk,

And the gentle breeze from the borderland.

Your smile shines brightly on your lips,

Like the joy from distant lands you protect.

You send your smile as a gift to your loved ones,

Embody
