To serve the entertainment needs of the people as well as tourists during the 2021 New Year holiday, the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City sent a letter to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting permission to organize fireworks on New Year’s Day 2021.

And on the morning of December 30, the Prime Minister approved Ho Chi Minh City’s proposal to host fireworks to celebrate the 2021 New Year.

If in previous years, Ho Chi Minh City would organize fireworks at 3 locations, in 2021, the city will host fireworks at 4 locations as follows:

– The first high-range location is Thu Thiem Tunnel (District 2), with an expected number of 1500 high-range fireworks, 30 low-range frames, and 10 fire technique frames.

– The Landmark 81 building, along with the Central Park area (Binh Thanh District), is the second high-range location, expected to feature around 800 high-range fireworks, 6,200 low-range tubes, and fire techniques.

– The third low-range location is Dam Sen Cultural Park (District 11) with 90 low-range frames and 30 fire technique frames.

– Finally, to celebrate the establishment of Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City will add one more low-range fireworks location in High-tech Park (District 9).

The fireworks displays will last for 15 minutes from 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2021. The funding for the fireworks comes from the city’s socialized capital.
