Reflecting on her trip to Nha Trang in June, 32-year-old Ms. Thu Quynh from HCMC shared that she only took photos of the sea view from her hotel room. It was her first time choosing a 5-star hotel for a leisurely stay.
“In the past, I used to meticulously plan trips to visit many beautiful photo spots, but now all I need is a quiet space to rest, admire the scenery, and soak in the surrounding life,” Ms. Quynh said.

Instead of choosing hotels priced at 500,000 – 600,000 VND per night, Ms. Quynh and her friends opted for a hotel that was almost ten times more expensive just for the purpose of relaxation.
“The feeling of letting go of all the pressure, immersing myself in the beautiful scenery, and reclining on a comfortable bed makes me feel more at ease and re-energized for the next leg of the journey,” she shared.
Similarly, 28-year-old Mr. Nhat Long recently took a trip to Dalat with his family. Having visited the city of flowers multiple times before, his family planned a more leisurely itinerary this time, dedicating more time to rest, enjoying coffee, appreciating the scenery, and visiting pagodas.
Many “cooling off” destinations are preferred in the summer

Mr. Long shared, “Although it was also a 3-day 2-night stay in Dalat, this time my family chose a hotel with a mountain view and spacious surroundings to enjoy on-site, minimizing the need for movement. These moments of leisure help dissipate all tiredness, and provide a sense of peace with loved ones. It’s a way to heal my emotions after dealing with pressure.”
Summer tours are not just about travel, but also about bringing family members together, casting aside the busyness and worries of life, and escaping the hustle and bustle of studying, so that all family members can experience, relax, and nurture their bonds. According to surveys conducted by travel companies in HCMC, the trend of “healing” tourism and family group travel is being favored by many customers for their summer vacation in 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luu, Deputy CEO of Saigontourist Travel, stated that this summer, the company has recorded up to 85% of customers opting for family tours, with more than 30% of them traveling in multi-generational family groups (including grandparents, parents, and children).
“Domestic tours remain the top choice for tourists due to their simple booking procedures, reasonable prices, and the diverse and constantly refreshed range of tourist attractions, services, and experiences available,” said a representative of Saigontourist Travel.

At Vietravel, Ms. Nguyen Nguyet Van Khanh, Director of Marketing, mentioned that the trend of seeking “cooling off” places has never been more popular when it comes to trips. In addition to domestic tours, international tours are also thriving during this time.
“The new tour Binhdinh – Vivid every moment, featuring carefully arranged and designed tourist destinations, has received a lot of positive feedback from tourists. Tours to China are also quite popular as this is the first summer Vietnamese tourists can explore the continent after a long period of being affected by the pandemic,” said Ms. Khanh.
