Round and wide-faced or wide-jawed faces are common among Asian women. In today’s beauty standards, the sharp V-line jawline has become the ideal, causing insecurity for many women, especially those who are slightly overweight. While cosmetic surgery and weight loss are options, makeup offers a quick and convenient solution to create the illusion of a slimmer face. If you’re unsure where to start, follow these instructions:
Step 1: Apply foundation all over the face using a brush. Start by dabbing foundation on the central points of the face (forehead, nose bridge, philtrum, and chin) and blend it evenly to both sides. You can skip the jawline or apply a thin layer of foundation on it.
Step 2: Use a light orange blush to dab evenly on the cheeks. Gently blend it upwards towards the temples and along the border of the face to create a natural blending effect.
Step 3: Use a bronzer to blend on the jawline, ears, and the forehead above the temples to “shrink” the face. Apply more pressure on 1/3 of the cheek for a more effective result on the lower jawline.
Step 4: Use a highlighter on the T-zone, under the lower eyelids, philtrum, and chin to create brightness and draw attention away from the jawline.
Step 5: Use black eyeliner to emphasize the upper lash line and draw only 1/3 of the lower lash line starting from the outer corner of the eye, making the eyes appear larger and diverting attention from the lower face.
Step 6: Use an eyelash curler and apply mascara to create curled lashes.
Step 7: Define the eyebrows using a dark brown pencil.
Step 8: Apply a nude lipstick closest to your natural lip color. For dark lips, apply a layer of foundation before lipstick to maintain the original color.
Congratulations! You have completed these 8 simple steps. Now, admire the results and feel the difference!
