Preserving and Caring for Winter Sweaters
|
Winter is the time when sweaters are worn, but if you don’t know how to care for and preserve them, the sweaters will quickly wear out and fade in color.
- Before washing, brush off any dirt on the sweater and soak it in cold water for 10-20 minutes. Then squeeze out the water, put it in soapy water that has been dissolved, and rinse it with water a few times.
- Wool sweaters often shrink and become discolored. To restore the shape of the sweater, put it in hot water at 70-80°C for 1-2 hours. Then remove and dry it, and the fabric will regain its elasticity.
- White wool sweaters often change color over time. Therefore, after washing, put the sweater in cold water for about 1 hour. Then remove and hang it to dry, and the sweater will return to its original white color.
- For colored wool sweaters, use tea water for washing. The sweater will not fade, and the wool will not be damaged. The gentle washing method is as follows: take a basin of hot water, add a moderate amount of tea, mix with cold water, remove the tea leaves, then soak the sweater for about 15 minutes, squeeze a few times, then wash with clean water and dry in a cool place.
- Wool sweaters often have a lot of lint or pilling. To remove the lint, soak it in water and reduce the amount of lint, then wash the sweater. The wool will be restored to its original state.
