Soaking the avocado in rice

This is the most commonly used and effective method. By placing the unripe avocado in a box of rice and let it sit for 2-3 days, the avocado will ripen evenly and can be used for various dishes. The process is very simple, first wash and dry the avocado, then place it in the box of rice and cover it tightly. Check the avocado every day to avoid over-ripening, as it can affect the texture of the rice. When the avocado is ripe but still slightly firm, gently remove it and make smoothies, or a nutritious salad for the family.
 

Microwave

If you want to ripen the avocado quickly, you can use a microwave. The high temperature in the microwave will help the avocado ripen soft but still fresh and not bitter.

First, wash and dry the avocado. Then, prick around the avocado to prevent it from exploding, and microwave the avocado for 30-40 seconds before taking it out to cool. Note that you should not microwave the avocado for too long, as it will make the avocado mushy and lose its taste.

Ripening avocados with other fruits

Place the unripe avocado together with other ripe fruits in a container. This will accelerate the ripening process. According to science, ripe fruits release Ethylene gas, which stimulates other nearby fruits to ripen faster.

Choose a sealed container, place the avocado and other fruits inside, and seal it for 1-2 days. Avoid stacking the fruits on top of each other.
