To ensure the health safety of many people, many choose to use iron pans to cook instead of buying non-stick pans. However, iron pans often make the food stick, burn, and stick to the pan. So the chef advises you on a simple way when you buy a new pan, sisters should refer to it!
Method 1: Use lard
First, wash the new pan thoroughly, then place it on the stove, turn on the stove to dry the water around the pan.
After that, cut a piece of pork fat and put it on the pan. Use tongs to clamp the piece of lard and spread it evenly over the pan while the stove is still on and the pan is hot.
After the lard has been evenly spread over the pan, turn off the stove and let the pan rest for 6 hours. Finally, wash the pan clean with dishwashing liquid.
Method 2, you can use vegetable oil instead of lard
Place the clean pan on the stove to dry the water, pour a suitable amount of vegetable oil into the pan. This is not oil for mixing food so it does not have many additives in it, it is better for health and the lubricating effect of this type of oil is also very good.
After spreading the cooking oil evenly on the pan, leave the pan overnight. On the second day, it can be used to cook directly.
Thus, you use this method to “season the pan”, even regular iron pans can become non-stick pans.
Method 3, use coconut oil and salt
Preparation:
– Stainless steel pan
– Coconut oil
– Table salt
– Paper towel
Steps:
Place the pan on the stove, turn the heat to medium. Then add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and heat it until the coconut oil melts.
Spread the coconut oil evenly around the pan and then pour out the excess coconut oil. Sprinkle a layer of salt on the pan, enough to cover the entire bottom of the pan.
Then, use a paper towel to rub the oil into the salt around the pan to polish the entire surface of the pan.
Use a clean paper towel to wipe off the excess coconut oil and salt. At this point, your pan is ready to cook without worrying about food sticking to it.
Note: This method does not have long-term effects and you have to repeat this process when you feel the food starts sticking again.
And when cooking, you still have to use a little cooking oil or butter to prevent sticking. However, these are just minor inconveniences in exchange for a clean and safe pan when used.
