1. Clean up broken eggs

Sometimes, you accidentally drop an egg on the floor, and you need a lot of paper towels to clean up the broken pieces and the runny egg. But with a little salt, you can clean up the broken egg quickly and easily. Sprinkle salt on the broken egg and let it absorb for a few minutes. Then, you just need a paper towel to wipe it clean.

2. Remove sticky residue on an iron

Is your iron dirty and sticky? Heat the iron to its maximum temperature for a few minutes. When the iron is hot, take wax paper or newspaper and sprinkle salt on top. Now move the iron in circular motions over the salt – the salt will “catch” the sticky residue and keep it on the paper.

3. Clean wine stains from carpets

If wine spills on your carpet, whether it’s red or white wine, you can easily clean it up by pouring a little baking soda on it, then sprinkling an additional layer of salt on top. Let the salt absorb as much liquid as possible and when the salt dries up. Now you just need to sweep off the layer of salt and baking soda on top, and the carpet will return to its original clean look!

Cutting boards can be a source of bacteria and illness if they are not properly cleaned. So, you should rub half a lemon on the surface of the wooden cutting board, then pour a thin layer of salt on top. Leave it like that for 10-15 minutes, then rub with lemon again and clean with water.

6. Put out a kitchen fire

If a flame suddenly bursts out in the pan while you are cooking, water will not help extinguish the fire, and it may even cause the fire to flare up more because the cause of the fire could be oil. Instead of using water, quickly grab a salt shaker and pour it on the flames. Salt will prevent oxygen from reaching the fire and quickly extinguish it.

7. Clean bottles and pans

Sometimes, pots and pans get “accidentally” dirty from burnt food residues. The simplest way to clean it is to pour salt into the pan or pot and add water. This mixture will help loosen all the burnt residue, and after ten minutes, you can easily scrub the pan. You can also use this method to remove burnt food stains in the oven.

8. Clean the dish sponge

After washing dishes, the dish sponge can become dirty and black from stubborn food sticking to it. Just fill a container with 200ml of water and 1 tablespoon of salt, dissolve it, then soak the dish sponge overnight. The next morning, you will see the dish sponge almost like new again. You should do this at least once a week, regardless of whether the dish sponge is stained or not, to maintain cleanliness and disinfect it.

9. Remove stains on tile grout

Sometimes, the regular cleaning agents we buy are not enough to effectively clean tile grout. Or you simply want to choose a natural way to clean tile grout, don’t forget about salt. Try mixing a plastic cup of baking soda and one tablespoon of salt (wear protective gloves and open a window because you shouldn’t breathe in the fumes). Apply the paste to the grout and scrub. After about a minute, you will see that even long-standing stubborn stains will start to disappear.

10. Unclog drains

If the drain in your kitchen sink or bathroom is clogged, the method is very simple. First, remove any trapped debris in the drain, then mix equal parts baking soda and salt. Pour the powder mixture directly into the drain hole, and then pour a cup of vinegar on top. The drain will start to bubble and release the blockages within 15 minutes. Then just pour hot water down the drain to remove any remaining powder mixture, and the drain will return to normal water flow.

Hopefully, with the above uses of salt, you will have more handy tips to apply in your life.
