1. Clean the dirt

When cleaning any room, start by dusting.

First, dampen and wring out a small cotton cloth, then spray the cloth twice with multipurpose cleaner. Cotton cloth works well to catch small dust particles and pet hair, if you have pets at home.

Dust the lighting fixtures, vents, ceiling fans, windowsills, towel racks, shelves, curtains, cabinets, furniture, appliances, and everything else with care. During the process of dusting, wash the cloth and add more multipurpose cleaner if necessary.

2. Clean the oven

Cleaning the oven may sound daunting, but it’s easier than you think.

Start by filling your sink with hot soapy water. Remove the oven racks and soak them.

While the racks are soaking, spray the inside of the oven with a specialized oven cleaner. If you’re looking for a non-toxic method, you can make a cleaning paste with one part water to four parts baking soda. Spread the paste all over the oven, avoiding the heating elements if possible.

Go back to the sink and scrub the oven racks thoroughly with a sponge or steel wool, then place them on a large towel on the countertop to dry.

Finally, you can use a dry cloth to wipe the entire oven after applying the oven cleaner and wait for about 30-40 minutes.

3. Clean the stovetop

Depending on whether your kitchen runs on electricity or gas, the approach to tackling dirt will vary. For electric stovetops, spray glass cleaner or a cleaning solution onto the stovetop surface and use a small cotton cloth to wipe. For gas stovetops, start by removing the burner grates and soak them in hot soapy water in the sink.

While they soak, clean the cabinet above the stove, the range hood, and the stovetop with dish soap, hot water, and a sponge. Go back to the sink to scrub the burner grates thoroughly, then dry them with a small cotton cloth and place them back on the stove.

4. Clean the refrigerator

To clean the refrigerator, the first thing to do is to remove everything from the fridge. Then, take out the shelves/drawers and wash them in the sink. Once cleaned, dry them and place them back in the fridge and arrange all the food and items back.

Once you’ve completed the interior cleaning of the fridge, you’ll move on to the exterior. Wipe the surface of the fridge with a small cotton cloth, moistened to remove dust.

For stainless steel fridges, wet a sponge and add a little stainless steel cleaner.

Wipe vertically following the grain of the steel, then wipe again completely with a damp cotton cloth. For other surfaces, a wet sponge and a few drops of dish soap will help make the surface clean and shiny. Avoid wiping with a dry cloth to ensure a streak-free, shiny fridge.

To keep your kitchen clean at all times, clean regularly. Don’t let a mess pile up and wait for a someday to clean. Cleaning the kitchen right after cooking will help everything stay cleaner for longer. Additionally, store unused items neatly and always vacuum and dust kitchen rugs regularly to minimize bacteria.
