3Taiwan Visa Application Process

Tourist Visa

According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, the following documents are required to apply for a Taiwan tourist visa:

  • Original passport and one copy, valid for at least 6 months, with the applicant’s signature (The passport copy should include the passport cover and all pages containing visas, entry and exit stamps).
  • Fully completed visa application form from the website (along with 2 photos taken within the last 3 months, 4×6 size, white background), with the applicant’s signature. Website address: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw
  • Proof of occupation: This includes an employment contract, health insurance, and social insurance (submit copies, with originals for verification), as well as a leave approval letter signed by the employer and stamped by the company. If you are a company director, only the business registration certificate is required (original for verification).
  • Proof of financial capability: A savings account with a balance between VND 100 million and VND 500 million.
  • Round-trip flight reservation (temporary).
  • Hotel reservation (temporary).
  • Taiwan travel itinerary.

Family Visit Visa

According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, the following documents are required to apply for a Taiwan family visit visa:

  • Original passport and one copy, valid for at least 6 months, with the applicant’s signature (The passport copy should include the passport cover and all pages containing visas, entry and exit stamps).

Business Visa

Taiwan Business Visa for Short-Term Business Trips

Language Learning Visa

According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, the following documents are required to apply for a Taiwan language learning visa:

  • Original passport and one copy, valid for at least 6 months, with the applicant’s signature (The passport copy should include the passport cover and all pages containing visas, entry and exit stamps).

  • Original and copy of the school admission notice.
  • Original and copy of the highest academic degree (bachelor’s degree or higher) and transcript or report card. Additionally, these documents must be translated into Chinese or English and certified by the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs.
  • Proof of financial capability: Original and copy of a savings account (if the account belongs to the applicant’s parents, a document proving the relationship is required).
  • Study plan in English or Chinese, signed by the applicant, original and copy.
  • Certificate of language proficiency: One of the following certificates is required: (1) Test of Chinese as a Foreign Language (TOCFL) Level 1 (Basic) or higher. (2) English proficiency certificates: (effective from 2/01/2013) TOEFL: iBT must be 18 or higher, pBT 340 or higher; TOEIC: 300 or higher; IELTS: 2.5 or higher. (3) For those studying in English or Chinese departments at universities/colleges, a minimum of one year of study is required, with an average academic performance of 6.0 or higher.

Work Visa

According to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, the work visa application must be submitted through labor export companies. The requirements for the application are as follows:

Vietnamese Workers in Taiwan

For workers in the following occupations: domestic helpers, caregivers in institutions, and home caregivers, the minimum age requirement is 20 years old. For other occupations, such as manufacturing, business, and offshore fishing, the minimum age is 18 years old.

When applying for a work visa, the applicant must go to the counter to get their fingerprints taken and submit the following documents:

  • Visa application form (fill out the form online at http://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, after filling in all the information, print out the form and sign it).
  • Two color photos, white background, 4×6 size (taken within the last 3 months).
  • Original documents for verification.
  • Original recruitment letter (quota) issued by the Ministry of Labor of Taiwan (must be verified by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam).
  • Original Vietnamese language proficiency assessment form issued by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam.
  • Original employment contract (signed by the employer and the employee, stamped, and verified by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam).
  • Original training certificate.
  • Original criminal record certificate (Police Clearance Certificate No. 2).
  • Original commitment letter regarding salary and other expenses of the worker, signed and approved by the competent authority.
  • Health examination results valid for 3 months and proof of vaccination at least 14 days in advance (refer to the list of Vietnamese hospitals authorized by the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare).
  • List of prospective laborers to be exported, verified by the Vietnam Labor Management Department.
  • Official letter “Home Quarantine Plan for Workers after Entering Taiwan” issued by the Taiwan Ministry of Labor. 13. Other documents as required by the Office.

For work visas, the processing time is as follows:

  • Regular processing: 5 working days, with a fee of USD 66.
  • Expedited processing: 3 working days, with a fee of USD 99.

Other Important Information:

The fees for tourist, family visit, business, language learning, and work visas are as follows:

  • Regular processing: USD 50 (after 5 working days).
  • Expedited processing: USD 75 (after 2 working days).

Additionally, according to Article 5 of the Regulations Governing the Implementation of Visa for Foreign Passports, the Taipei Office reserves the right to interview the applicant or request additional relevant documents during the application process.
