The “Magic” Teacher and the Hardest-Working Class
The homeroom teacher of Grade 12B1, Master of Mathematics Dinh Cao Thuong, has been with Kim Son A High School for 20 years. He couldn’t hide his emotions and pride when sharing the students’ exam results.
“I have never been so moved as I was on the morning of July 16 when the Ministry of Education and Training announced the exam results. I immediately searched for Thai An’s name when the system released the graduation scores. I believed he would score above 29, but I never expected a perfect 30. I was stunned for a few seconds, then overwhelmed with joy, and even more surprised when all 47 students in my class passed with excellent results,” said Mr. Thuong.

Aside from Thai An’s outstanding achievement, Mr. Thuong’s class, known as the “hardest-working class,” impressed the school with their remarkable exam results: 7 perfect scores, including 2 in Mathematics, 4 in Physics, and 1 in Chemistry. Twelve students scored 27 or higher, and 4 scored above 28.
According to Mr. Thuong, all 47 students in the class performed exceptionally well. Many also excelled in the Hanoi National University Assessment of Capacity, Assessment of Thinking by Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and IELTS certification. These achievements create numerous opportunities for admission to top universities, which is a source of great pride for Mr. Thuong.
Mr. Thuong has been with this class for three years, and everyone calls him the “magic teacher.” He, in turn, calls the 12B1 class “a very special group.” All 47 students are diligent, well-behaved, and active in group activities. For Mr. Thuong, the 12B1 class is a community where students are connected not only through knowledge but also through sharing and unity.
The Journey of Sowing Seeds is a Persistent Endeavor
With the outstanding results in the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam and the achievements throughout the three years of high school, it is no exaggeration to call homeroom teacher Dinh Cao Thuong a “magic teacher.”

Regarding the process of achieving these excellent results, Mr. Thuong shared: “I was assigned to teach a class of excellent students from the 10th-grade entrance exam. The subject teachers were also carefully selected and included only the best, dedicated, and caring instructors. I believe this was a significant advantage.
However, Thai An’s cohort faced challenges as it was the first group to undergo the new curriculum. The students had to study the high school program without the foundational knowledge from middle school. But I, along with the subject teachers, closely followed the educational plan, constructing an annual review and knowledge reinforcement roadmap aligned with the school’s plan and tailored to each class.”
According to Mr. Thuong, the success of the 12B1 class resulted from the strong collaboration between teachers, parents, and students. The school, teachers, and parents provided the best conditions for the students to participate in various programs that expanded their opportunities for university admission, such as the Hanoi National University Assessment of Capacity, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Assessment of Thinking, and the IELTS international certificate. These results reflect the students’ relentless efforts and the right direction provided by their supportive network.
Moreover, although he teaches Mathematics, Mr. Thuong always pays attention to the students’ health and mental well-being, accompanying them on their academic journey so that even the most stressful study sessions are filled with laughter.
While the scores are a testament to the students’ hard work and dedication, they are not everything. What moved Mr. Thuong the most was witnessing the growth and maturity of his students. With each passing exam season, new memories are made, marking the beginning of a new journey for the students. And for Mr. Thuong, this year’s exam season concluded beautifully.
