Restore the whiteness of a white sweater
After a long time of use, a white sweater may show signs of yellowing or fading, and the fridge can help fix this.
To restore the white color of the sweater, simply wash it and put it in the freezer compartment of the fridge for 1 hour, then hang it out to dry. The previous whiteness of the sweater will be restored.
Freeze unexpected foods
There are many other foods that can be frozen, but not everyone knows that. You can safely store the following types of food in the freezer:
– Fresh herbs: wash them, chop them, and put them in an ice tray with a little water.
– Chopped garlic and chopped green onions.
– Pizza, bread, and especially cake flour.
– Cooked pasta.
– Soup, sauce.
– Various types of flour, seeds…
Seed preservation
The fridge can also be a safe place to store seeds if you intend to grow clean vegetables at home. Simply choose the best, dry seeds, put them in a sealed box or a Ziplock bag, and put them in the freezer. When you want to plant vegetables, just take out the bag of seeds, wait for the seeds to completely thaw at room temperature, and then you can sow them as usual.
Softening beans
For beans such as black beans or red beans, it’s not easy to soften them. To soften the beans, boil them for a while, then let them cool and put them in the freezer compartment of the fridge for a few hours. Then cook the beans, they will soften much faster.
Save more food
One of the biggest reasons people buy a refrigerator is to save food. And the freezer compartment is a “paradise” for storing it! For onions, carrots, and leftover herbs after cooking, don’t rush to throw them away, put them in the freezer and who knows, you may invent a nutritious dish later.
