Due to its high durability and resistance to corrosion and discoloration, it is often used to create a range of household items such as spoons, forks, knives, pots, and chopping boards.

Which Type of Stainless Steel is Best for Household Items?

The most common types of stainless steel used in the manufacturing of household items are grades 201, 304, and 430, each with its unique characteristics:

Grade 430 Stainless Steel

Grade 430 stainless steel contains 15% chromium, along with iron and other elements, but no nickel. It is known for its bright, shiny appearance and magnetic properties, making it suitable for induction cooking and safe for health. However, it is relatively thin, less resistant to oxidation, and prone to staining over time. This type of stainless steel is often used for making pots, pans, or as an outer layer of a pot’s base.

Grade 201 Stainless Steel
