Thanh Ngoc, born in 1975, was known to the audience through movies like “Blood and Money,” “Farewell to the Past,” and “A Woman Walking in the Rain.” In 2001, she gave birth to her first child and 10 months later became pregnant with her second child, so she declined the lead role in director Dinh Duc Liem’s film “A Weak Woman.” After that, she stopped acting and switched to makeup and achieved great success in this new field. In 2016, she and her family moved to the United States to settle down.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with stage 4 thyroid cancer. After surviving the death sentence, she focused on exercise and diet.
Actress Thanh Ngoc practices yoga, swimming, meditation, and occasionally runs every day. She exercises for about 30-45 minutes in the morning, with no fixed schedule for the rest of the day.
Thanh Ngoc mainly exercises at home, maintaining a strict exercise regimen to not miss any days.
She also enjoys nude yoga, a form of exercise that enhances the effectiveness of training by completely liberating the mind, body, and spirit. While practicing, the actress feels as light as if she has “shed burdens, no more constraints or distractions.”
According to Thanh Ngoc, the key to practicing nude yoga is to eliminate ordinary thoughts and desires, focus on training, and listen to the body. When performing this exercise, she is in a closed room and prefers silence when facing herself.
As for diet, Thanh Ngoc doesn’t choose or process food meticulously. She avoids red meat (such as beef, pork, lamb), chooses white meat (such as chicken, fish), vegetables, fruits, and various types of seeds. In addition, she doesn’t consume more energy than her appropriate energy intake, which is 1,100 calories per day.
Especially every morning, she mixes 2 liters of lemon and honey with warm water to use throughout the day. Thanh Ngoc also drinks collagen in the form of water 1 hour before going to bed at 11 pm and wakes up at 5:30 am the next day. Maintaining this habit helps her enhance her health and have beautiful skin.
Thanh Ngoc shared that she used to neglect herself because she was obsessed with work. After the shock of cancer, she woke up and spent more time on herself, her family, and relaxation. Thanks to following the treatment and living a healthy lifestyle, the condition of the 2 cancerous cells is well controlled, requiring monitoring every 3 months.
She said, “Surviving death, I love my body more. Because I exploited and used it too much, I have to return it to its best state as it was originally.”
Exercise and relaxation have helped Thanh Ngoc regain her health and have a more seductive body than before, even being praised for looking younger than her 48 years. She has also changed her mindset to take care of herself, believing that one must still be beautiful despite illness.
