There are several ways to use Piper sarmentosum leaves to treat sciatica at home:
- Method 1: Heat the Piper sarmentosum leaves with salt, wash them, put them in a clean cloth bag, and tie it securely. Apply heat to the bag and place it along the path of the sciatic nerve. Do this 1-2 times a day for 30 minutes each time.
- Method 2: Combine Piper sarmentosum leaves with mugwort in equal proportions, wash them, crush the leaves, add vinegar, and heat them. Then, let them cool down and apply the mixture to the painful areas. Perform this 1-2 times a day for 30 minutes each time.
- Method 3: Drink a decoction made from 10g of Piper sarmentosum leaves. Wash the leaves, boil them in water until the water reduces to one cup, and drink the decoction while it is still warm.

Hedge Woundwort
Using Hedge Woundwort is a simple home remedy for sciatica. In traditional medicine, this herb has a cool nature and a sour taste, and it is believed to benefit the Can and Kidney meridians. Hedge Woundwort helps to nourish the blood and liver, clear heat, improve urination, strengthen tendons and bones, reduce pain, boost the immune system, reinforce blood vessels, and improve blood circulation. Additionally, it helps to improve bone health.
- Method 1: Drink a decoction made from Hedge Woundwort. Wash and dry 300g of Hedge Woundwort, boil it in 1 liter of water, and strain the liquid. Drink the decoction regularly for at least 7 days to alleviate sciatica pain.
- Method 2: Combine Hedge Woundwort with other herbs such as Centella asiatica, Lysimachia christinae, Bidens pilosa, and Piper sarmentosum leaves. Wash the ingredients and boil them in 1 liter of water for 30 minutes. Strain the liquid and divide it into three portions to be consumed throughout the day. Continue this remedy for 10 days.
