If you’re tired of fatty meat dishes, you can try pickling red beets in the following way to make a side dish. Pickled red beets have a sour, sweet, fresh, and crunchy taste, and they are also visually appealing. This pickling method is quick, convenient, and delicious. Ingredients:
– 200g red beets
– 25g sugar
– 20g white vinegar
– Sufficient amount of honey
– Salt
Instructions:
Step 1: Clean the red beets, remove the stems and leaves. Place two chopsticks on either side of the beets, then use a knife to slice them into thin slices, about 5mm thick. Note that you should not cut all the way to the bottom of the beets, stop when the knife touches the chopsticks.
Rotate the beets 90 degrees and continue slicing them into thin slices as before. The result will be a set of beets still connected at the bottom.
After slicing, soak the beets in water.
Step 2: After slicing all the beets, take them out and let them drain. Arrange the beets in a container. Sprinkle salt over the beets, paying attention to rub the salt evenly between the slices, marinate for 5 minutes.
