Shampoo is a liquid hair care product that can cleanse accumulated residues or even dirt. You can enhance its effectiveness by adding these additional products to your shampoo and enjoy double the benefits for your hair.
1. Add coconut water to your shampoo:
Coconut water is an effective hair care ingredient and one of the most versatile components. Coconut water acts as a natural conditioner as shampoo can strip off the oil from your hair. Coconut water helps to coat the strands and keep the hair moisturized. It can also help reduce frizz, hair fall, dandruff and make the hair look soft, smooth, and shiny.
Add 1 tablespoon of shampoo, ½ tablespoon of coconut water, and 1 tablespoon of water. Mix this mixture well and shampoo your hair with it as usual.
2. Add sugar to your shampoo:
Adding sugar to your shampoo can help exfoliate the scalp and remove dead skin cells, accumulated products. Just add 2 tablespoons of finely granulated brown sugar to 1 tablespoon of shampoo in a small mixing bowl, mix well, and gently massage into the scalp in circular motions for one minute.
3. Dilute shampoo with water before use:
Diluting shampoo with water before use can help reduce the impact of chemicals while shampooing, retaining some natural oils of the hair. It’s essential for your hair health.
Put it in a mixing bowl (or you can mix it in the palm of your hand or directly in a cup while showering), dilute a portion of shampoo with a portion of water, and use it to shampoo your hair. Make sure your hair is properly wet before shampooing.
4. Add salt to your shampoo
Salt is an essential seasoning in the kitchen, not only for cooking but also sometimes used for skincare and hair care. Common salt types used for hair shampoo: Table salt (refined salt), sea salt, Himalayan pink salt, kosher salt.
Using salt to shampoo has antibacterial properties, removes dead skin cells, and helps enhance the effectiveness of scalp treatment. Furthermore, combining salt with shampoo also helps protect the scalp from issues such as itching and dandruff.
It would be better if you evenly apply the shampoo on the scalp first and the remaining portion on the hair as the scalp produces more oil than the hair. Especially, do not mix water into the entire shampoo bottle. Only mix water with the portion of shampoo to be used.
