If you always struggle with cleaning and eliminating odors from your family’s vases and flower bottles, then in this article, let’s find out how to clean vases and bottles quickly and easily.
1. Use rice
First, you just need to put a handful of rice into a bottle and then pour some boiling water into it, making sure that the rice is submerged. Continue to tightly close the bottle and shake it vigorously 2-3 times, about 1 minute each time.
After shaking, pour out the dirty rice and water, and rinse the bottle with clean water. Rice has excellent moisture absorption ability, so your bottle will be clean and shiny without any unpleasant odor anymore.
2. Use distilled water and vinegar
Mix distilled water and vinegar in a ratio of 3 tablespoons of vinegar to 4 tablespoons of distilled water. After mixing the solution thoroughly, pour it into the bottle that needs to be cleaned and soak it for 12 hours.
After 12 hours of soaking, pour out the solution and rinse the bottle with clean water. Your bottle will no longer have any unpleasant odors.
3. Use salt
For this method, you just need to put a few salt crystals into the bottle that needs to be cleaned, then add about 50ml of warm water and tightly close the bottle. Shake it well for 1-2 minutes.
After the salt dissolves and the water in the bottle turns cloudy, pour out the cloudy water and salt, and rinse the bottle with clean water once again.
4. Use lemon
You can use lemon to effectively and easily eliminate the odor from your flower vase. You just need to use a few slices of lemon to scrub and clean around the vase and the mouth of the vase, or put a few slices of lemon into the vase along with 50ml of water and shake well.
The citric acid in lemon quickly removes dirt without leaving any scratches. Additionally, lemon helps effectively eliminate odors.
5. Use a brush
Step 1: Pour some dishwashing liquid into the bottle, then pour warm or cold water into the bottle halfway. If the bottle has a lid or other accessories, remove them to make it easier to clean (do not soak the bottle in the sink as bacteria can have a higher chance of infiltration. If you need to soak it, place the bottle in a separate basin).
Step 2: Insert a brush into the bottle and start scrubbing, moving the brush up and down around the bottle (make sure the brush fits the bottle mouth and length that can reach the bottom).
Step 3: After cleaning the inside, rinse the bottle with water. You should rinse 2-3 times to ensure all soap is removed (repeat the process if the bottle is still dirty).
Step 4: Let the bottle air dry by putting it upside down on a dry cloth or drying rack. Do not use a cloth to wipe the inside of the bottle, as bacteria or germs may enter the bottle.
6. Use gravel
Step 1: Pour some gravel into the bottle. Choose gravel that is medium-sized or small.
This method is very useful for bottles with special shapes because the gravel will clean all the corners that you cannot scrub. Note that your gravel should not have sharp edges, as they can scratch the inside of the bottle.
Step 2: Add some dish soap (any type of dish soap will do). If your bottle is not too dirty, you can simply use dish soap.
Step 3: Pour water into the bottle about 1/3 full. It’s better to use hot water as it can remove stains better than cold water.
Step 4: Shake the bottle vigorously, use your hand to cover the bottle mouth to prevent the solution from overflowing. Shake the bottle in both horizontal and vertical directions.
Step 5: Pour the mixture out of the bottle and check if there are any remaining gravel pieces. Repeat the above steps if necessary (remember not to pour the gravel down the drain, dispose of it in a trash bin to avoid clogging the pipes).
Step 6: Rinse the bottle with clean water. Rinse multiple times to ensure cleanliness. If you use the bottle for drinking water, use antibacterial soap to clean it, and let the bottle air dry by putting it upside down on a dry cloth or drying rack. Do not use a cloth to wipe the inside of the bottle, as bacteria or germs may enter the bottle.
