Start the Day with a Nutritious Breakfast

Lin never skips breakfast. She considers it the most important meal of the day, providing her body with the energy it needs and helping to control her appetite later on. Her typical breakfast includes whole grains, eggs, fresh fruits, and nuts – a combination that keeps her full and provides fiber and protein.

Zhang Honghua, a nutritionist and doctor at Shanghai Medical College in China, agrees: “A breakfast rich in protein and fiber boosts metabolism, curbs cravings throughout the day, and stabilizes blood sugar levels, which is key to long-term weight management.”

Limit Refined Carbohydrates

Lin prioritizes complex carbohydrates from vegetables, oats, and sweet potatoes over white rice and bread. She especially avoids carbohydrates in the evening when the body is less active and more prone to storing calories as fat.

A study published in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition supports this approach, finding that a low-refined-carbohydrate diet significantly improved body mass index (BMI), visceral fat, and glucose metabolism in middle-aged women.

Drink 3 Liters of Water Daily – Focus on ‘Healing’ Waters

Lin makes it a habit to drink around 3 liters of water each day. In addition to plain water, she includes red bean water, black bean water, cucumber juice, and warm lemon water, which are believed to have cleansing and healing properties. These drinks help detoxify her body, improve digestion, and promote clear, supple skin.

Nutritionist Yang Ling from Beijing’s Military General Hospital of PLA emphasizes the benefits of these drinks: “Red bean water acts as a diuretic and reduces edema; black bean water is rich in anthocyanins, powerful antioxidants; and cucumber juice provides silica, a mineral that supports skin elasticity and healthy hair. These drinks are particularly recommended for women approaching menopause.”

This hydration habit not only aids Lin’s weight management but also contributes to her glowing, youthful complexion, despite her busy work schedule.

Lin attended an event in October last year.

Born in 1976 in Taipei, Lin rose to fame in the late 1990s as one of the leading stars of Chinese TV dramas. She is well-loved by Vietnamese audiences for her roles in “Huan Zhu Ge Ge” (Return of the Pearl Princess) and other popular period dramas. After marrying actor Hu Ge and giving birth to their daughter in 2017, Lin has maintained her youthful appearance and slender figure. She is currently producing and starring in an upcoming TV series slated for release in 2026.
